Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for the delivery of a professional and comprehensive HR service for Weylandts Furniture Creations (WFC) and Weylandts Furniture Creations Upholstery (WFCU).

This position will be based in Epping, Cape Town. 

 Main accountabilities:

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures within WFC & WFCU.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Ensure compliance with recruitment policies and best practices.
  • Support internal talent mobility, including transfers and promotions (confirmation of employment etc.), in alignment with business needs.
  • Responsible for offer of employment & candidate relationship through to start date.
  • Oversee new starter induction and onboarding.
  • Maintain the company’s biometric system.
  • Capture and monitor daily attendance tracker.
  • Ensure that payroll information is collated and submitted to the Payroll Specialist for weekly wages to be processed.
  • Serve as back-up to Payroll Specialist for weekly wages to be processed.
  • Management of employee relations to support, enhance and strengthen the relationship between employees, their representatives and employers.
  • Support Production Manager with the maintenance and allocation of incentives.
  • Partner with Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers on action plans to address non-performance and capability gaps.
  • Provide sound HR solutions to workforce issues identified by Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers. Proactively identify potential concerns and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain company organization charts.
  • Partner with employees to investigate and resolve concerns and workplace issues.
  • Identify training and development needs within WFC / WFCU & propose training plans.
  • Ensure that all regulatory/ compliance training is completed annually.
  • Ensure that all statutory & SETA requirements are met and that WSP and ATR process is completed annually
  • Process terminations and ensure that exit paperwork is submitted timeously.
  • Collect and interpret data across the portfolio to improve business outcomes.
  • Participate in and/ or manage HR projects as and when required.
  • Assisting other HR team members during high workload periods.
  • Coordinate staff welfare logistics for WFC & WFCU.

 Technical Skills:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant certificate, diploma or degree in HR Management or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in an HR environment; manufacturing advantageous.
  • Registered SDF and proven SETA funded programme experience advantageous
  • Good PC literacy (MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
